THE FUTURE OF DRAG RACING

Jianna Rose Salinas, Age 15

Jianna started her driving career in a go-kart, racing her sisters, and often beating them.  She started in the Junior category at the age of 10 and has her eye on the front-end Nostalgia car as well.  She races in the 13-18 group and loves the challenge of index racing.  Jianna has been playing volleyball for 5 years for both school and club.  Her nickname on the court is "the hammer" because of her killer serves.  Jianna is a sophomore in high school and wants to study genetics upon graduation.  Jianna will be also start training in the 7.0 front-engine dragster.

Janae  "Nae Nae" Salinas, Age 12

Janae is our youngest junior and has been driving in the Junior category since the age of 8.  She experienced a roll-over on her very first race and managed to get right back in the car.  She gained a true respect for the vehicle.  You  can often find Janae on the track studying the other drivers' movements and taking mental notes.  Janae is a 7th grader and aside from dragracing, her passion is dancing. She hopes to someday study at Juliard School of Dance in New York.

Alyssa Jimenez, Age 14

Alyssa is our 2012 junior driver.  Her father, Mono Jimenez, Scrappers Racing Facility Manager and Crew Member, exposed Alyssa to cars at a very young age.  You can often find Alyssa handing Mono a tool, rag or holding a light for him.  Alyssa is a freshman in high school.

New Junior Driver for 2013 Season

Scrappers Racing is in the process of adding an additional female driver to their Junior team.   Our new driver will be introduced in the near future.
